  12.          Gentlemen:

  14.          I am submitting the enclosed program entitled "Silicon Sky" 
  15.          for distribution as "Shareware".  The requested registration 
  16.          fee is $10.00.  Silicon Sky is an astronomy program which 
  17.          displays approximately 1600 stars as seen from any latitude 
  18.          on earth for a selected date, time and direction of 
  19.          observation. In addition the program displays the location of 
  20.          the sun, moon and planets and shows the correct phase of the 
  21.          moon.  More detailed technical data giving coordinates of 
  22.          solar system objects can be displayed by selecting the proper 
  23.          option from the on-screen menu.  Finally, it identifies the 
  24.          constellations visible on the screen by marking out their 
  25.          boundaries.

  27.          The program requires an IBM or compatible with a color 
  28.          graphics card (CGA) or an enhanced graphics card (EGA).  An 
  29.          8087 math co-processor chip is supported and speeds up 
  30.          execution time considerably, especially when compared to a 
  31.          standard PC without the chip.  The contents of the individual 
  32.          files are as follow:

  35.                SISKY87.EXE  The main program for machines with 8087 chip
  36.                INIT.EXE     Initialization program for non 8087 machines
  37.                INIT87.EXE   Initialization program for 8087 machines
  38.                SISKY.XYZ    Coordinate data for 1600 stars
  39.                SISKY.CLR    File with initialization data
  40.                SISKY.HRZ    Horizon for sky display
  41.                SISKY.DME    Top of celestial sphere for sky display
  42.                SISKY.CNM    Name and central coordinates for constellations
  43.                READ.ME      Text file with program instructions 
  44.                LETTER.TXT   Text file with this letter    
  45.                ARIES...VOLANS  These thirty five files contain 
  46.                                boundary data for each constellation
